Privacy policy

This policy explains which personal data BahiaStay processes, for what purpose, for how long, and how you exercise your rights under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), Brazil's data protection law.

This is a preliminary version. The identification of the data controller (registered name, tax number and address) and the formal channel for the data protection officer will be added before publication — they have not been filled in with hypothetical values.

This is a translation provided for convenience. The Portuguese version is the one that governs, and it prevails in case of any divergence. Read the original in Portuguese

1. What data we collect

We collect only what you give us, and the minimum the site needs to work:

  • Contact details you type into the forms: name, email, phone and whatever message you write.
  • Property details, when you apply to list: location, type of property and any photo links you provide.
  • Your email, when you subscribe to the curated selection.
  • Aggregated technical browsing data — pages viewed and where the visit came from — with no individual profile.

2. What stays only in your browser

The properties you save to favourites are stored in your own browser, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data erases that list, and we have no way to recover it or to know what was in it.

3. What we use it for

We use the data to:

  • reply to your booking, dossier or contact request;
  • assess a property's application to the catalogue;
  • send the editorial selection, when you have subscribed — with an unsubscribe link in every email;
  • comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

4. Who we share it with

We share strictly what is necessary with the owner of the house you want to book, and with providers who carry out part of the service — payment processing, legal advice on property acquisition, and site hosting.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass it on for third-party advertising.

5. How long we keep it

We keep contact details for as long as the relationship lasts, and for the applicable legal period after that. Property applications that are not approved are discarded once the outcome has been communicated, unless you ask to stay on file.

6. Your rights

You may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymisation, portability or deletion of your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Just write to contato@bahiastay.com.

7. Security

We take technical and organisational measures to protect the data against unauthorised access. No system is impregnable; if a material incident occurs, we notify the data subjects and the competent authority within the time limits set by law.

8. Language

The Portuguese version of this policy is the official one. The English, Spanish and French translations are offered for convenience; in case of any divergence of interpretation, the Portuguese text prevails.
