Security & booking guarantee
Renting a high-end house from a distance asks for trust on both sides. This page sets out, without euphemism, what BahiaStay does to earn it — and what it does not guarantee.
The property exists, and it looks as shown
No house enters the catalogue by remote submission. An inspector from the team visits the property, checks the structure, the upkeep, the beach access and the operating conditions, and photographs what they find.
Where the photograph on the page is our own production, it shows the house in the state you will find it. When there is refurbishment or a material change, the page is updated before the house is offered again.
The payment stays in escrow until check-in
The balance of the booking does not go straight to the owner. It is held and released only after the guest has entered the property.
In practice: if the house is unavailable or does not match what was agreed, the money is still under the intermediary's control at the moment the problem appears — which is the only moment the guarantee is worth anything.
The guest is vetted too
The owner who entrusts a house to BahiaStay is entitled to the same diligence. The team verifies identity documents, the purpose of the trip and the make-up of the group before confirming any booking.
Houses with a family profile do not host events or parties unless the owner authorises it expressly, in writing.
When buying, due diligence comes before the offer
No formal offer is made without title, environmental and tax checks carried out by a partner firm — including the leasehold position, where the property sits on foreshore land.
The negotiation runs under a confidentiality agreement, and the deed is executed with legal representation on both sides.
What we do not guarantee
We do not control the weather, the state of the sea, building work nearby, power or water outages in the region, or road closures. In those cases the team works to rearrange what it can, but there is no promise of a result.
Nor do we guarantee any return on a property bought through the portfolio. The market figures published on the site are reference data compiled by us, not a forecast.
Found something wrong?
If anything on the site does not match the reality of the property, tell the team. We correct the page and, where warranted, take the house out of the catalogue until the matter is resolved.
